SEPTEMBER 12 – MAHWAH, NJ -  The Cross Country Team performed very well in the Season Opener at Darlington County Park in Mahwah on Saturday Morning.  Junior Mason McKinney won the 5K event with a time of 16:12.  Sophomore Joseph Reiser also posted a strong time, finishing 6^th in 16:39.  Emerson DeLaRoca '28 placed 14^th, finishing in 17:09 and classmate Paul Alzapiedi finished 23^rd in 17:46.  Noah Martin finished 32^nd in 18:20.  Sam Rueda and Luke Saingas finished 38 and 39 with time of 18:29 and 18:30 respectively in a field of 117 runners.
     AS a team, BC finished third behind Ridgewood HS and Seton Pall Prep. Nineteen teams participated in the event with Ramapo finishing third at 102 points.
     The Junior Varsity Team (62 points) placed second to Seton Hall Prep (31 points) in the JV A 5K Race.  Michael Vargas placed second in 18:46, Brian Duff placed 5^th in 19:14, Matthew Benz placed 19^th at 20:01, Anthony Ruiz de Somocurcio at 20:24 and Luke Falcon scored in 31^st place, finishing in 20:48.
     The following runners completed the race as well:  Duncan Gensler (63^rd, 22:06), Nikhil Sadhwani (83^rd, 22:45), Lorenzo Lee (115^th, 24:44), Jack Dextraze (120^th, 25:14), James Gullo (132^nd, 25:56).
     The Freshmen ran their first high school meet, going 2900 meters.  Paul Martin led the group, finishing 16^th with a time of 10:33.  Benjamin Finger placed 55^th with a time of 11:27 and Alvin DeLaRoca ran an 11:53, finishing 67^th overall.
