MAY 8 – ORADELL, NJ  - George Azrumelashvili and Jose Ferreira are the lead the Crusaders in kills this season.  Each one has 203 kills after 20 matches for a Crusader team who has gone from an up-and-comer to the top seed in Bergen County Coaches Association Tournament.  BC is 19-1 (.950 winning percentage) after its latest victory, 2-0 (25-9, 25-17) over West Essex High School.
     In talking with Azrumelashvili, I alluded to the counter-striking presence of Ferreira.  His response was, "we have a complete team this year."  From outside hitters, let's look at the setter.  Benjamin Li has been remarkable, posting 544 assists thus far on the season, sixth best on record to date in school history. 
     With his four aces on the day, Azrumelashvili climbs to #9 on the single-season leader list in that category.  Will he reach the Kirk Nouhan range of 76?  Who know?  But this much we do know, it's been a lot of fun seeing this team mature, compete and succeed.
