APRIL 24 – LYNDHURST, NJ – Ten Crusader runs in the first three stanzas started things off at Breslin Stadium on Friday as BC defeated Teaneck's Highwaymen 14-9 in a Big North Conference independent game.
BC, now 8-6, built a lead on three doubles from lead-off hitter,
Aquiles Hache (3-for-3, four runs scored) and two-for three hitting from
Andres Polanco (double, 2 RBIs and four runs scored). In the three slot,
Jael Santos went one for two, scoring a run and knocking one in and
Anthony Martino scored two runs, going one-for-one with a double.
Daniel Graziano tripled and knocked in three runs while
Michael Alberto drove in four runs, going three-for-four. Tom Harmke stroked a double and played ball magnet, getting hit by a pair of pitches. The senior drove in a pair of runs and Devin Zitt drove in a run with a single.
Joe Gugliotta earned the victory pitching three solid innings. Things got a little away from him in the fourth, but
Adriel Huertas closed the door on the Highwaymen, striking out nine over the final four frames.
