APRIL 23 – PALISADES PARK, NJ – People forget that Palisades Park was home to
The Cyclone, a twentieth-century roller coaster at the famed amusement park named Palisades Amusement Park. Well, BC climbed to a pretty safe view of a victory, amassing a five-run lead through six innings. With
Jack Pintarelli throwing dimes (11 strikeouts over six and two-thirds), all should seem fine, right?
A seventh-inning free-fall gave everyone that feeling in the pit of their stomachs that everything was out of control. Four errors contributed to four unearned runs with just an out to go. Enter Sandman.
Adriel Huertas. Even Huertas added to the excitement, walking the first batter he faced before ending the drama and closing the door on St. Dominic's HS of New York.
The victory was an essential one as it helps to qualify the Crusaders for the possibility of a BCCA Tournament bid. Finishing under .500 by the cut off would have meant disaster.
Andres Polanco went three for three and scored a run.
Jael Santos knocked in a pair of runs and
Daniel Graziano went two for three with a double and a triple. Graz scored a run and drove one in as well.
