March 12-13 – Atlantic City, NJ – The Crusader Wrestling Program has had a strong showing this individual season.  From advancing 14 wrestlers from the Districts VII Championships (13 champs) to 12 grapplers moving through the Region II Tournament to the States, they are poised to finish strong with six of the twelve still competing on the third day.
     Sophomore Gideon Gonzalez will be pursuing his first state title, reaching the final at 138 pounds.  Senior and Princeton University bound Joey Canova is in the final match of his high school career at 157 pounds.
     Four grapplers have advanced in the blood round (or into the semifinal) to earn a medal and will be wrestling Saturday morning to climb the mountain toward bronze.  Freshman Anthony Riotto (113 pounds), sophomore Matthew Mulligan (126 pounds), senior Sowzrawca Tsay (144 pounds) and sophomore Manny Gusfa (165 pounds) are still alive!
