NOTES
- BC'S CURRENT TEN-GAME UNDEFEATED STREAK qualifies as one of BC's fastest starts to the season AND one of the longest streaks in school history. Let's have a look at the best starts and longest winning streaks since soccer became a varsity BC sport in 1972.
FAST STARTS AND LONG STREAKS
- 2009 – Coach Mark Edge's Crusaders had a 21-game undefeated streak to start. Winning the first five games, then a tie in game 6 before winning the next 15 in a row. The season ended unfortunately with a pair of losses and BC finished 20-2-1. Who could forget Tony Flaim's penalty kick to beat Don Bosco or the talented group including Brian Pannel, Brian Pash, Randy Pearce, Connor Alexander and Marcello Escudero.
- 1989 – BC Hall of Fame coach Hugh Beattie's team put together a 14-game unbeaten streak to start in 1989 (12-0-2). The Crusaders finished 17-3-2. BC's first All-American soccer player, Andreas Maier starred on that team, setting up goal-scorer Damian Garbaccio.
- 2023 – Coach Pete Berkanish's Crusaders opened with a pair of ties before rattling off 11 straight wins (13 game undefeated streak) to start the season. The league champion team finished 15-2-3 with a trip to the NPA North Semifinals where Seton Hall Prep outlasted the Crusaders in double-overtime. BC was powered by Sebastian Ortega and Ryan Chong, a formidable offensive duo.
- 2016 – 11 Game winning streak to start the season. Syracuse-bound Miles Franklyn and Cole Bosch powered the BC offense that year.
- 2019 – 10 Game winning streak to start the season. Nick Shannon, Nicholas Schwake, Jake Sweeney and Allen Villafranca, who netted the game winning goal vs. Ridgewood in the County Final led the Crusaders to a championship season.
- TWO SEASONS with 10+ game winning streaks later in the season were 2008 (10 game winning streak) and 1984 (14 game winning streak)
