JANUARY 8 – HACKENSACK, NJ – Senior Day for the Ice Hockey Team was a grand affair, that threatened to not be one. Ultimately, however, the Crusaders defeated the Dragons and improved to 7-4 on the season.
The Crusaders opened a 3-0 first period lead on a natural hat-trick by
Carter Edmonds, and while the visitors scored one to end the period, BC started off the second with goals by
Angelo Spadaccini on the power play and
Braydon Kane. That's when things began to get dicey. Brick rallied for five consecutive goals to take a 6-5 lead with just 1:23 remaining in the second.
George Wiener salvaged the period for BC, scoring with just 2.3 seconds on the clock and the teams went to the lockers tied at six.
Carter Edmonds went on to finish what he started, scoring just 15 seconds into the third period and ultimately he put the game on ice at the 3:55 mark with goal number five. Edmonds finished the day with career highs of 5 goals, 2 assists and 7 points in one game, a perfect way to celebrate his senior day!
Kenneth Johnson earned the victory between the pipes by turning away 23 of 29 shots on goal.
