JANUARY 29 – GALLOWAY, NJ – The Crusader Basketball Team, ranked #2 in New Jersey faced Spire Academy of Ohio, ranked #1 in the USA according to some polls. BC played an outstanding game, playing toe-to-toe with their foe until Spire built an 8 point lead after three quarters. BC finished the game strong, but were not able to ultimately cut the lead, falling 69-59.
Senior guard
Jaden Brown scored a game-high 20 points and was on fire in the first half, keeping the game within a possession.
Alex Mazzella played his normal up-tempo, tenacious style, knocking down three three-pointers, on his way to 14 points and a team-leading 7 assists.
Julius Avent finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds and a pair of assists, despite being doubled most of the evening.
