JANUARY 20 – HACKENSCK, NJ – Julius Avent and
Brandon McMillan (Bridgee) each scored a game-high 15 points to pace BC to an 84-56 victory over Hackensack in the county seat on Tuesday evening.
Jahlil Owusu pitched in fourteen on a half-dozen field goals and two-for-four shooting from the line.
Alex Mazzella hit on four, third-quarter buckets and
Owen Wucherpfennig flirted with a double-double, finishing with 8 points and 9 rebounds.
The Crusaders are now 34-17 (.667) overall against the Comets in a rivalry that dates back to December 26, 1962. That game was a Holiday Tournament contest held at Don Bosco Prep. BC earned a 71-52 decision in Ramsey. The Crusaders currently have their longest winning streak against Hackensack, 7 games, dating back to February 19, 2015.
