JANUARY 2 – LINCROFT, NJ – BC wrestled one of the state's top teams at the Catholic School Duals, falling to St. Peter's of Jersey City 30-28. A tremendous match that saw BC jump out to an early lead due to pins by Ralphie Barca and
Anthony Riotto and a major decision from
Ryan Halal.
The Marauders won the next four bouts form 120 pounds to 138, taking a 16-15 lead, before
Gideon Gonzalez answered with a third-period technical fall to put BC back in front 20-16.
Manny Gusfa won by Technical Fall at 157 pounds, but the Marauders won four of five bouts from 150-190 pounds. Still the Crusaders had an outside chance entering 215 pounds and
Mason Marck on the mat. Marck wrestled well, but was unable to pick up any bonus points, winning 6-3.
