MAHWAH, NJ – The Crusader Varsity Cross Country Team ran very well, placing second overall in the Big North Conference United Red Division Batch Meet. Junior
Preston Neal led the way, finishing at 17:03 in the 5K run, ten seconds ahead of the next best runner. Team results follow below.
Explanation of results. Cross country scoring: LOWEST TEAM WINS. That is determined by place runner finishes. Top 5 runners count, but all 7 can impact opponent scoring. Example, TEAM 1 finishes in place 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 points. TEAM 2 finishes 6+7+8+9+10 = 40 points. If TEAM 1's #6 and #7 runners finish in front of TEAM 2's runners (ex 6th, 7th place), while they do not score points, neither does the opponent for those places. TEAM 2 instead finish #8+9+10+11+12 = 50 points.

Joseph Reiser won the 2900-meter Freshman BNC United Coed Race with a time of 9:16.
Michael Custodio took third, edging teammate Dylan Hanley as the two crossed with a time of 10:10. Luke Falcone,
Brandon Chu and Charles Genser all finished top 10 as well.
