GARWOOD, NJ - Bergen Catholic overwhelmed their opponent in their rugby sevens game versus Don Bosco with a 21-0 shutout win. The Crusaders showed a good mix of explosive offense and aggressive defense, never allowing Don Bosco any space to maneuver on the field.
CJ Park initiated the scoring after breaking through the defense line to make the first try. Paul Rutigliano next capitalized on a loose ruck ball, sprinting from the midfield to register a long solo try that increased Bergen Catholic's lead. The final one was in the fashion of a quick attacking play where Declan Manning delivered a swift pop pass near the goal line that set up Aidan Sainclivier to punch it in from 10 meters out.
Sainclivier was perfect from the tee, making all three attempts to finish the 21-point tally. On the defensive end, Bergen Catholic's physicality and discipline shut down Don Bosco's offense every time, earning an impressive victory.
