RAMSEY, NJ - The Crusader Football team fell to Don Bosco Prep 14-9 on Friday night at Granatell Stadium.  The visiting Crusaders found themselves in a 14-0 hole in the second quarter due to a pair of long Ironmen drives that resulted in touchdowns.  BC out-gained the Ironmen 299-202.  Unfortunately, that advantage was eaten away by penalties.  BC was flagged 10 times for 80 yards and DBP just 4 times for 32 yards.

Late in the second quarter, sophomore QB Trey Tagliaferri found Jamal Hammary for a touchdown, cutting the lead to 14-6.  After an Ironman penalty that moved the ball to the one and a half yard line for the PAT, the Crusaders decided to go for the two-point conversion and were denied.

BC received in the second half and drove the ball down the field.  Jacob Soltys converted a field goal to pull BC within 5, 14-9.  The Crusaders drove the ball effectively in the fourth quarter as the defense quickly stopped DBP and got off the field.

Najee Calhoun (87 total yards) and Dante Kain (23 yards) helped move the ball on the ground and Austin Busso (6 catches 86 yards) and Bryan Porter (4 catches 55 yards) helped BC reach the 6 yard line before a pass was intercepted at the 2 yard line with 4 minutes remaining.  BC was unable to prevent the Ironmen from getting a first down as the clock expired.
