Crusader Keep Rolling in BNC United

Four Crusaders Net Shots in Victory

ORADELL, NJ - After a moment of silence remembering the seven fallen alumni, one alumni parent and all those who so needlessly lost their lives on 9-11-2001, the Crusader faced an interesting test by the Green Knights of St. Joseph Regional.  SJR employed a very defensive posture, seeming as if at least 5 players were deep with a sixth rotating up field toward the ball when it crossed from one sideline to the other.  The system was effective early, creating a number of scoring opportunities and highlight-save opportunities for John Coleman who could be seen diving to his left to bat a shot wide of the goal post.
BC was methodical and ultimately diagnosed how to defeat the zone, using dynamic speed, skill and athleticism on the sides, kicked off by a spectacular goal from senior wing Kieran Ewers, his first career goal.  He and classmate John Flynn displayed some nice chemistry and the Crusaders were up 1-0.  John Semelsberger (15th career goal) worked in small space on the far side (near the old scoreboard) and somehow scored on an extreme-angle shot that snuck near side past the Green Knight goalie.  Liam Agans got an opportunity to show his stuff at the varsity level and immediately made an impact, recording his first career goal as well.
The Crusaders went into the half with a 3-0 lead which Ricardo Tejada-Arango added his first career goal to, in order to finish BC's scoring at four.  Frank Burns, William Tramontozzi, Ewers and Agans all assisted on goals as well.
John Coleman started in the net for BC, shutting out the Green Knights and saving two shots on goal.  Ian Chung did a nice job finishing out the win, saving four and giving up a goal.
