ORADELL, NJ – The JV Football Team finished with a strong offensive effort and clutch defensive performance to win 35-24 over Seton Hall Prep on Monday afternoon.
BC was hitting on all cylinders early on as Ralph Tristani completed a 58-yard touchdown pass to Quinn Dunleavy on the third play of the game.  Brody Carnahan drove the PAT through the uprights and BC led 7-0.  After the defense stopped the Pirates, Tristani went quickly back to work hitting Dunleavy for another 23-yard completion before hitting Christopher Smith for a 12-yard touchdown pass.  Carnahan drove his second PAT perfectly through the uprights and BC led 14-0.
In the second quarter, BC stopped SHP and the Pirates returned the favor, stopping the Crusaders and finally getting on the board to cut the lead to 14-6.
The Tristani-Dunleavy express answered immediately going deep for a seventy-yard touchdown on BC's next play from scrimmage.  Carnahan drove the PAT home and BC led 21-6.
Seton Hall Prep was becoming more driven and drove the football down the field with just about 1:15 remaining in the half.  Facing a fourth and 1 from BC's 12, the Pirates were hoping to punch in a score before the half to gain momentum.  A pair of freshmen, Carter Sabathia and YahYah Lewis had a different idea, stuffing the blue ball carrier and giving Tristani just over a minute to work some 88-yard magic.
On first down, Tristani hit Shaylen Christian for a 32-yard strike.  (Christian had a pair of first half catches for 65 yards.)  After spiking the ball to stop the clock at the Crusader 45, Tristani took the snap and looked deep downfield to Brady Galligher.  Galligher wrestled the ball away from his defender and sprinted the final 25 yards into the end zone for a 55-yard score with short time remaining.  Mateo Michelis entered the game to put the PAT through the uprights and BC led 28-6.
Fair to say, the second half was almost all Seton Hall.  They scored 18 points, down 28-24 and were driving with visions of a late comeback.  Brady Galligher would have none of it.  From his defensive back position, Galligher jumped a pass in the right flat and sped 88 yards for the game sealing touchdown and BC finished the season on a good note 35-24.  Tristani passed for 315 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half.
