ORADELL, NJ – Four Crusaders announced their college decisions on Wednesday morning at Bergen Catholic's Christopher J. Donfield Court in legendary Hoehl Gymnasium. All four announcements were to Division I athletic programs for basketball, track and field and lacrosse.
JULIUS AVENT (MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY-BASKETBALL)
Julius was an integral member of the Crusader League, County and State Champion Basketball Team of 2024-2025. He had a tremendous junior year, earning Second Team All-Non-Public Honors. He will be playing for the Spartans next year.
JADEN BROWN (FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY - BASKETBALL)
Jaden recognizes the importance of team success, noting his leadership role on the Crusader League, County and State Champion Basketball Team of 2024-2025. He earned Second Team All-State Honors and First Team All-Big North United, All North Jersey, All Bergen County and was on last year's All Jamboree Team. He will be playing for the Stags next year.
JOSEPH ANGELI (LAFAYETTE COLLEGE-LACROSSE)
Joseph is a member of the Crusader varsity lacrosse program. He is a three-year letter winner and looking to bring his leadership and athletic ability with a long-stick to play for the Leopards next year.
MATTHEW PEKO (COLLEGE OF HOLY CROSS – TRACK AND FIELD)
Matthew is a member of the Crusader Indoor and Outdoor Track teams. He earned All Bergen County in the 200m sprint indoors during his junior year and NJMilesplit All-State Honorable Mention in 2024-2025 as well. He will be running sprints for the Crusaders next year.
