WELCOME TO THE JACK AT BERGEN CATHOLIC HS
The Crusaders begin their third season on the new surface at Jack McGovern Field at Bergen Catholic's Crusader Stadium. The field was dedicated in memory of BC Hall of Famer, Alumnus, Alumni Parent and former Athletic Director, Jack McGovern who passed in 2019. You can watch a tribute to Jack with the link above.

Coach Campanile took the helm at Bergen Catholic in 2018, succeeding brother, Nunzio, who led BC to a state championship in 2017. Coach Vito immediately found success during the 2018 season, leading BC to the state final before the Crusaders were upset by St. Joseph Regional at MetLife Stadium.
Following a five-and-four 2019 campaign, Covid-19 prevented Campanile's #1-ranked Crusaders from pursuing a state championship as the state tournament was cancelled for the season.
In 2021, Coach Campanile led BC to its 18th state championship and second-ever 12-0 record. The Crusaders were the class of the state of New Jersey and earned the school's highest ever ranking to date of #3 in the country. The Crusaders have gone on to winning championships ever since, defeating Don Bosco Prep in 2021, 2022 and 2024 and defeating Delbarton School in 2023, all at Metlife Stadium.
In recognition of his commitment to excellence and leadership, Coach Campanile was recognized by the
USAToday as the Nation's High School Boys Coach of the Year.
In his 18-year head coaching career, Coach Campanile has a record of 155-62 (a .714 winning percentage).
THE CRUSADERS ON OFFENSE
Sophomore
#12 Trey Tagliaferri has been outstanding in calling the signals for BC. His 1,991 yards, 115 completions and 23 touchdown passes already mark him as the top sophomore QB in school history.
Freshman phenom
#17 Walker Snee has proven to be a major threat as a runner, recording 3 touchdowns on 29 carries. He averages 7.8 yards per touch, forcing opponents to respect him not only as a major-league passer, but deadly running threat as well.
Speedy junior
#15 Aidan Talley and sophomore passer
#16 Ralph Tristani are both demonstrating excellent performance when their numbers are called.
Senior running back
#6 Najee Calhoun is the Crusaders' top rusher, carrying 77 time for 621 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He has well over 3,500 yards in his career including over 1,900 yards rushing at BC. Senior running back
#1 Dante Kain. He currently has 400 yards from scrimmage on the season, The senior had 15 career touchdowns and over 1,600 all-purpose yards. He plans to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in the fall.
Coach Campanile sees this group as the finest group of receivers since he took the helm at BC with
#4 Austin Busso (40 receptions, 864 yards, 21.6 per catch and 10 TDs) leading the way. The Porter name remains a key aspect of the Crusader passing game as junior,
#3 Bryan Porter pulled in an 89-yard TD pass last week from Tagliaferri to help break the game open. He is averaging 21.8 yards per catch on the season with 7 touchdowns. Fellow junior
#13 Anthony Willis (27 receptions 384 yards and 3 TDs on the season) rounding out the top three perimeter receivers.
#14 Jamel Hammary (12 catches, 3 TDs) and
#19 Quinn Dunleavy (4 catches) also provide a threat to opposing secondaries.
Tough would describe the BC tight-ends. Both
#43 Jackson Kolomer and
#87 JD Adamek are fierce blockers who possess good hands. Add H-back,
#44 Kaden Blount to your equation and BC can ground and pound with a wide variety of personnel groups.
Like all great offenses, the Crusaders' initiates on the offensive line where five seniors will start from tackle to tackle. BC averages 6'2.5" and 290 pounds per man on the O-line in 2025. Athletic
#71 Rocco Costello brings three years of experience with him into his senior campaign. He will be working alongside of
#77 Mikey McMahon at the guard position.
#50 Travis Nodelman anchors the line at the center position and freshman
#75 Justin Golden has been a big help relocating people from his guard position as senior
#74 Harold Kang rehabs an ankle issue. They align next to
#55 Jack Harris who is returning to his tackle position. Don't be surprised to see time with quality back-ups,
#65 Hunter Gillon,
#58 Luke George and
#56 Eamon Errity.
BERGEN CATHOLIC ON DEFENSE
Under the leadership of Tony DeBellis, Crusader defenses have been downright awesome. Winning 51 of their last 55 games.
The defensive line is a formidable, four-man unit. Sophomore
#0 Jackson Vaughn (6 sacks, 10.5 TFLs and 35 tackles) is one of the most sought-after sophomores in the country. In his freshman year, he paced BC with 8 sacks and his 11 tackles for a were second on the team.
#9 Kenneth Hackney (1.5 sack, 4.5 TFLs and 29 tackles) and Texas A&M commit
#88 Jermaine Kinsler (2 TFLs, 32 tackles) along with DE
#8 DeAndre Orgill (28 tackles) will be asked to shore up a tough running team. Expect to see quite (.5 sacks, 3 TFLs, 28 tackles) and senior
#95 Brandon Wilson (1 sack, 2 TFLs, 19 tackles).
#7 Joshua Cruz (56 tackles, 5 TFLs, 1 sack) starts at the Sam linebacker position, moving down a level from strong-safety. His tremendous speed and athleticism make him a weapon at that position.
#10 Mason Marck (32 tackles, 1 FR, 2 INTs) returns at the Mike linebacker. He and
Jordan Thomas lead the team in takeaways with 3 apiece.
#5 Timothy Hogan (37 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 1 sack) starts at Will linebacker. Like Cruz and Marck, Hogan is extremely intelligent. Sophomore
#25 Nicholas Mauro (38 tackles, 3 TFLs and 1 sack) is an impact player for BC as well.
BC's defensive backfield is the most talented in school history. Three-year starter and Ohio State commit
#21 Jordan Thomas (8 career interceptions, 148 tackles, 16 PD) will start at safety for the Crusaders.
Senior North Carolina commit
#2 Xavier Jackson (63 career tackles, 3 takeaways including a pick-6) has been solid throughout the season.
#24 Tristan Herring is a strong tackler, with 16 on the season and classmate
#27 Amar'e Newell (15 tackles, 2 INTs, 1 return for TD) is having a strong year as well. This talented crew is joined by twin speedster sophomores

#21 Jordan Thomas and
Talley have gotten much more involved in the return game of late.

ST. JOSEPH'S FALCONS AT A GLANCE
Welcome to Oradell! This is the first ever meeting between St. Joseph and Bergen Catholic on the gridiron. While the Falcons have had considerable success during the past fifteen regular seasons, the playoffs have been unforgiving. SJ is 0-8 in the state playoffs and today's match-up with the four-time defending champion does not make things any easier.

THE FALCONS ON OFFENSE
There is really only one name you need to know...SCARAMUZZO,
#2 Justin Scaramuzzo. The senior signal caller is not only the team's leading passer, but the team's leading rusher as well. He is the only person to play the QB for the Falcons this year throwing for 1,045 yards, 11 TDs and only 1 interception. Add 561 yards on 87 carries (6.4 ypc) and 11 rushing touchdowns and that accounts for 22 of St. Joseph's 30 touchdowns.
Senior running back
#7 Reggie Bropleh has run for 299 yards and has caught 24 passes for 486 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is joined by senior
#44 Dylan Pierce who has three touchdowns on 63 carries for 302 yards (4.8 yards per carry). Senior
#11 Michael Wellett, III is the team's fourth leading rusher and third leading receiver. He has 3 touchdowns on the season. Senior wide receiver
#4 Tom Meyers has 10 catches for 150 yards.
SJHS ON DEFENSE
There are some names that will look familiar here. Starting with
Bropleh, who doubles as a defensive back. He leads the Falcons with 3 interceptions (4 takeaways in total) including one pick-six.
Wellett is third on the team in tackles with 41 and has 5 sacks and 8 TFLs. Of course,
Scaramuzzo is on the list with 18 tackles from his DB position. The team's leading tackler is
#99 Jason Gross (TE/DL) 8 sacks, 4 TFLs, 48 tackles. Former Crusader,
#0 CJ Edwards, is on the defensive line with 4 sacks, 3 TFLs and 33 tackles.
#69 Tommy Kwiatkowski plays on the line (both ways) and has 4 sacks, 7 TFLs and 42 tackles on his 2025 record.
ST. JOSEPH SPECIAL TEAMS
Sophomore
Austin Loretti takes care of the place kicking for the Falcons. He is four of six on his field goal attempts, with a long of 42 yards. Austin has hit on 31 of 31 extra points this season. Classmate
Franco Reinoso is the team's punter with an average of 31.9 yards per punt and a long of 40 yards.
Scaramuzzo has demonstrated the ability to punt on third down, so be heads up.
Bropleh, Scaramuzzo and a smattering of others combine to field punts and kickoffs. They have not broken a long return yet this year and BC's special teams will look to continue that trend.
