MONTVALE, NJ - The Crusader Freshman Team, riddled with injuries, continues to fight on. It was apparent as the offensive line provided just enough protection for slot back
Austin Bryan to sweep right, belly his course a a little, and deliver a perfect strike to
Nathan Wortley who dragged a couple of would-be tacklers with him into the end zone. It was BAVARRO-STYLE for those who remember and it occurred with under 30-seconds in teh half to cut the score to 28-6. The Green Knights stayed on the offensive and attempted a pass down the middle, but Benjamin Alpui broke up the pass to end the half. Had he been able to intercept, he had quite a bit of green grass (actually field turf) in front of him. But football isn't a game of woulda's, coulda's and shoulda's.
Austin Bryan found him on the other side of the Crusaders second touchdown as
Antonio Rodriguez found him in the open for a play that would result in a touchdown.
The young Crusaders got some solid offensive line play from
Lu'ay Gjokaj, who was seen driving his man across the sidelines at times.
Dominick Ginestra, Wortley and
Michael Tremarco were knocking some people off the ball as well, and Tremarco made a terrific catch on a football.
The final result was, a lot to a little, as they say in France. Nonetheless, the group continues to work to play their best and is looking forward to their season finale at home next week against Seton Hall Prep.
